Boots I bought Mappe Of's previous album on a different platform; this is a worthy addition.
As mentioned by others, these haunting melodies will stick to your bones. Grab some headphones! Favorite track: Ailynn.

Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) This album overwhelmed me on the first turn. And it keeps on fascinating me each time its nine tracks run through my "now playing" display. Tom Meikle's idiosyncratic songwriting takes the listener on a breathtaking journey through melodies, chords, and sounds, so haunting that it's impossible to get them out of the head for a long time. A ray of light in times, when all we can do is wait for the Corona tsunami to crash all over us. Favorite track: Thessalon.
Chris Knight

Chris Knight One of my favorite albums, period. So beautiful, it literally brings tears to my eyes. Reminds me of some of the best progressive rock of the 70's and 80's, in all the right ways. Soulful, deep lyrics, perfection in mixing and mastering. Please keep making music that touches the soul. Favorite track: Unkno.

Estuary 03:05
Woke up with a gasp And my lungs fill with water Choking and grasping my throat I rise to the surface And as my vision clears I witness Such majestic trees are crumbling Suddenly a creature fills my thoughts And he whispers, ‘Stay close to their leaves, Earth will keep you warm here, that’s a cold sun Stay close to their leaves Earth will keep you warm here, that’s a cold sun Stay close to their leaves
2.
Ailynn 05:45
I’ve crossed ancestral plains I’ve seen the pearly gates Seeking the edge of the earth Marking with stones in the dirt Drawing a line in the sand Carving the cracks in your hands Ailynn All these sacred temples crumbling down I never knew this place to be so violent So cruel to the comings of strangers And all the creatures that comforted you in song From the charred black mounts of the Omvak To the plains of Thessalon Ailynn Visions of lost and holy lands Emerging from machines Another being or a spirit spoke, ‘You must go now to that forest Find your brothers who marched before us There is much left to discover Of this temple’s ancient wonders We have seen such ghastly horrors When will you come back to haunt us?
3.
Kintail 03:29
All your questions will be answered For now just follow me and listen And as your feet ascend the ladder Look above to the leaves Now see the fires and the ocean? See the distance between sun and sky? Now you can see why We built these towers in the forest We’re the masters of our demise Does that settle your mind? To those who seek to destroy us Build their castles on our sacred ground We’ll be nowhere to be found
4.
Thessalon 03:50
She was a sheep in her mother’s clothes But she didn’t harbour the same kind of guilt ‘Cause her brother left before she woke He left a light on in the den And he stepped out into the night Never knowing if he’d be back again Thessalon In your houses and hay bales You hold faith She saw a ghost in the waterways And it crawled to the shore, to her feet Asking if she’d known her brother’s song She stuttered and started to reply When the mountains in the distance cried Spouting gas and clouds of black smoke Thessalon As your valleys and your lakes grow old They raise the dead She left his body in the undertow Didn’t seek the source of that red glow Well it seemed to her she’d already known And as those distant fires burned the wood And her eyelids filled with soot Well it seemed to her the cause was lost
5.
Unkno 04:34
Cautiously place our heels in the sand Waiting for someone to greet us We’ve come bearing gifts from the civilized world No startling No sudden steps They will be waiting for us With open arms and sunken chests Waiting for someone to greet us They will be waiting for us Waiting for someone to greet us They should be waiting for us All your ancestors have failed you Left you high and dry We have come to teach and save you Bring you towards the light Waiting for someone to greet us… have you been waiting for us?
6.
Volcae 03:04
I was born in magma Baptized in the mire And the swells of lava Washed away the ire I was born in magma Bleeding from the eyes I was born in magma Children of the fire To my only daughter Crawling through the mines It’s a long way to the water To the caves where mother hides I was born in magma Bleeding from the eyes I was born in magma Children of the fire Trespassed on sacred ritual They destroyed our ancient staves And the monoliths fall Onto the graves of our children Littered with obsidian and hideous remains But our carbon coated cloaks are impervious to stone And our scorched bones Endure infernos in our homes
7.
Icovellavna 09:13
Icovellavna In your endless serpentine What sort of secrets could you hide? Icovellavna With your fibres worn to hell You’re an ornamental shell Of Icovellavna Where by the grace of god Or by the weight of shame Have mercy on us all today Father said, ‘You’ve made poor choices all your life Maybe you deserve what’s coming to you Maybe if you’d hurt just one fewer You could usurp this holy light’ I was a guardian of the light Till a heathen clothed me I was a guardian of the light Till a heathen clothed me I was the keeper of the rites Till the mountains rose before me I was a sentinel in the night For the love you’d shown me

Estuary II 02:07
9.
Faesulae 08:46
Open the gates I’ve returned to read you the roads The shadows and valleys and smoke The towering trees The beauty if left alone The wild and the still unknown Heavenly stares (Feel your love materialize) Luminous lair (Where your ancestors stood) Heavenly stares Luminous lair Welcome home Rest your bones The world will know Why you kept us waiting for so long Longing I stare at the ripples in the river Tracing the lines from Thessalon to Keeper How could I leave? How could I rid the weight Of the people who cared for to guide me Over their desolate and their depriving homes? Welcome home Rest your bones The world will know Why you kept us waiting for so long
